In 2005, I became a probation/parole agent and worked at offices in Milwaukee and Fond du Lac. I had the additional duties of Hearing Magistrate and Fond du Lac County Drug Court panel member. These positions have allowed me to work very closely with numerous county detention facilities, district attorney’s offices, judges, and federal agencies. I have developed and maintain a high level of credibility with county jails, police departments, and circuit courts throughout the state.

In 2004, I promoted to Lieutenant at FLCI. In addition to supervising the operations of the institution with an inmate population of 1200, I served on the Program Review Committee (PRC) and determined discipline for minor and major conduct report hearings.
In 2002, I started my corrections career at MSDF as a Segregation Unit officer.
In 2003, I promoted to Sergeant at TCI where I was primarily assigned to the Segregation, Mental Health, and AODA programming units.
In 1996, I began working for the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs as a drill instructor. As a founding staff member, I assisted with starting and developing the Wisconsin Challenge Academy (juvenile “boot camp”) at Fort Mc Coy, WI. This program helps young men and women overcome personal issues, within a military environment, to become educated and productive citizens.
Between 2000 and 2005, I worked as a police officer for departments in Monroe, Dane, and La Crosse counties. I hold numerous certifications including Field Training Officer, Firearms Instructor, and Taser Instructor.

I am a Veteran of Operation Desert Shield/Storm (1990/1991) where I served in the Marine Infantry.
