The Wisconsin Department of Corrections uses the Correctional Offender Management Profiling for Alternative Sanctions (COMPAS) to assess a defendant's risk/needs.  COMPAS takes your responses to 137 questions and will make determinations about your perceived risk level to the community and potential programming needs.

Since COMPAS will not release how it relates each question to the next (algorithm) to arrive at an outcome, your responses are VERY important during your interview with the State's PSI writer.

Between 2012 and 2016, I had over 1000 interactions with the COMPAS program and am intimately aware what questions are "traps" to getting a poor outcome.
